A working meeting on the preparation to the 21st meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation
On October 7 this year, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan S. Umurzakov headed a working meeting dedicated to timely and high-quality preparation to upcoming 21st meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation expected for October 12 this year in Bukhara.
Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation M. Reshetnikov and Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan S. Umurzakov co-chaired the Intergovernmental Commission.
The meeting included the debriefs of reports of the heads of ministries and relevant departments on the current state of trade, economic, investment and industrial cooperation with the Russian Federation, as well as on the preparations to upcoming meeting.
The heads of 9 the IGC's sub-commissions from the Uzbek side provided detailed information on the execution of the decisions stipulated by the minutes of the 20th meeting of the IGC in trade, economic, investment, industrial and interregional cooperation, interaction in the banking and financial sector, as well as in such areas as transport, energy, agriculture, health care, science, education and culture.
During the meeting, the participants paid a particular attention to the need to take additional measures to enhance interaction with the Russian side under the joint projects and initiatives.
The responsible heads of ministries, departments, and organizations of the Republic received certain instructions on the comprehensive study of new opportunities for cooperation and the development of specific project proposals for discussion with Russian partners during the upcoming visit of the Government Delegation of the Russian Federation to Uzbekistan.
