Cooperation issues between Uzbekistan and the EU on the application of GSP+ preferences were discussed

Within the participation of Uzbekistan's delegation in the 9th round of negotiations on the draft Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (EPCA) between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the European Union, Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade
of Uzbekistan B.Abidov met with Director for Sustainable Development and Economic Partnership Agreements of the Directorate-General for Trade of the European Commission E.Zinovyets in Brussels.

The application of preferences of the EU Generalized System of Preferences "GSP+" in Uzbekistan as well as the prospects for bilateral cooperation with the EU in the framework of this mechanism was discussed.

It was noted that Uzbekistan attaches particular importance to further enhancement of bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation with the European Union, including within the GSP+ system, which creates a solid foundation for diversification and sustainable growth of Uzbekistan's foreign trade with the EU.

As a result of negotiations, the parties agreed on practical cooperation on the implementation of joint initiatives to support entrepreneurs in the effective use of the benefits of the EU Generalized System of Preferences "GSP+".
