On July 12 of this year, the delegation of Uzbekistan participated in the Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in Luxembourg.

The agenda of this Annual Meeting was “Interconnectivity and Integration”, which disclosed investment and economic relations between the European and Asian countries during the most official events.

Grand Duke of Luxemburg Henri, the Prime-Minister of Luxemburg Xavier Bettel, the Minister of Finances of Luxemburg Pierre Gramegna and the President of AIIB Jin Liqun participated in official ceremony of opening.

As part of the business program, the head of the delegation of Uzbekistan - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade S. Umurzakov, who is the manager of the AIIB in Uzbekistan, spoke at a round table and discussed expanding of investment cooperation between Europe and Asia through cross-border infrastructure projects, priorities of bank’s corporate strategy, IT industry and its role in the international financial environment.

In addition, bilateral meetings were hold during meeting. They involved the Director of the Treasury of the French Ministry of Finance Odile Renaud-Basso, the State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Finance of Germany Joorg Kukis, the Minister of Finances and the Senior Advisor to the President of Afghanistan on economic issues and infrastructure Muhammad Qaumi , the Managing Advisor of the European Investment Bank Umberto del Pant and Advisor to the President of the ABII Konstantin Limitovsky. Here, mutual cooperation and ongoing projects and initiatives were discussed.
