Investment and industrial development of the Andijan region were discussed
The working group headed by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan S.Umurzakov visited Andijan region to get familiarized with a number of production facilities, to examine promising investment projects and instruct the heads of local authorities of Andijan city and districts of the region on urgent tasks to stimulate investment and foreign trade activities in the region.
During the meeting, entrepreneurs made presentations on promising investment projects in agriculture, metallurgy, textile, leather-footwear as well as building materials industry. Issues related to the implementation of projects were discussed, algorithms for their solutions were worked out and instructions were given to the heads of relevant ministries, departments and commercial banks to unite efforts and provide effective support to the initiators of investment projects in close coordination.
During the meeting with the heads of local authorities of region, city and district levels of the Andijan region priority measures to enhance investment and foreign trade activities and industrial development in the region were discussed.
The progress of work on identification of new reserves for implementation of high-tech projects in promising for this region industries, establishment of intra-regional industrial cooperation and localization of production of high value-added goods in demand on domestic and foreign markets was reviewed.
The role of local authorities as a coordinating link in the interaction with ministries, departments, industry associations, commercial banks and entrepreneurs for the effective realization of economic potential and comprehensive support of business initiatives of the business community of the region was emphasized.
The practical aspects of introducing a new system of stimulating investment and export activities in the region were discussed. In this context, the importance of applying a systematic approach to the analysis of industrial and investment potential in terms of districts in the development of new projects and close interaction with their initiators to accelerate the solution of issues related to the land allocation, determine funding sources, cooperation with other producers as well as accessing export markets was emphasized.
Following the meeting, the heads of local authorities were given detailed instructions for the effective implementation of new work mechanisms in the field and additional instructions for the qualitative implementation of tasks.
