Negotiations on investment, trade and economic cooperation with the Russian Federation
The Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan held the negotiations via video conference involving First Deputy Minister L. Kudratov and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation V. Yevtukhov.
The parties negotiated on a wide range of practical points within investment, trade and economic cooperation, as well as reviewed the progress in joint projects, existing concerns and their solutions.
They indicated a common position on the need to develop and deepen an investment cooperation in the priority areas. The parties considered the acceleration of investment projects being worked out to create high-tech manufacturing in agriculture, food industry, textile industry, engineering, healthcare, and other areas.
They also discussed individual project proposals on production of solar panels, as well as the adoption of digital technologies in some manufacturing sectors of Uzbekistan.
There was a discussion on promising mechanisms to increase commodity turnover through mutual removal of existing commercial barriers to ensure access Uzbek and Russian products to the markets of both countries.
Following the negotiations, the parties agreed to continue and develop systematic interaction on implementation of existing agreements and joint projects.
