Negotiations on the progress in strengthening of multifaceted cooperation with the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Korea
On October 24 this year, there were negotiations via video-conferencing on the progress in strengthening of trade, economic, investment, financial, technical, transport, logistics, and cultural and humanitarian cooperation with the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Korea disclosed during an expanded video conference headed by the President of the Republic Uzbekistan on October 14 this year.
The discussion headed by Deputy Ministers of Investment and Foreign Trade A. Voitov and L. Kudratov involved heads of ministries, departments and industry associations.
The projects planned for implementation with Chinese and Korean partners, as well as their progress analysis were reviewed. The parties also reviewed in detail a number of projects, which currently lag behind the implementation schedule. This resulted in algorithms to address the existing problems specifying certain deadlines and imposing personal responsibility on the heads of the relevant ministries and departments.
They emphasized the need to organize close interdepartmental cooperation to implement the tasks set by the Head of the Nation. Consequently, there was an instruction to create a special working group involving the heads of the relevant departments of the relevant ministries and institutions. The work of this group will focus on practical work to accelerate the projects and initiatives with Chinese and Korean partners.
Such an approach is a prerequisite for achieving the targeted goals for the cooperation with the PRC and South Korea defined by the Head of the Nation. By 2025, it is planned to bring the annual volume of investments from the PRC to USD 5 billion, and to USD 1 billion - from the Republic of Korea. At the same time, the annual export to the PRC should be at least USD 3 billion, and at least USD 800 million - to the Republic of Koreas, by 2025.
After the negotiations, the executive officers received additional targeted instructions to review all joint projects, prepare updated roadmaps for their accelerated, high-quality and timely implementation, as well as develop new promising programs for the next year. Such negotiations will take a regular place in order to ensure effective monitoring of high-quality and timely execution of the instructions of the Head of the Nation.
