Negotiations with Chief Executive Officer of the US International Development Finance Corporation A. Boehler

On October 9 this year, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan S. Umurzakov had a telephone conversation with Chief Executive Officer of the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) A. Boehler.

During the conversation, the parties discussed ongoing matters related to cooperation in order to strengthen bilateral ties between Uzbekistan and the United States. They also considered practical aspects of the joint projects in the transport and logistics sector.

There were matters related to the creation of a joint Investment Fund in Uzbekistan and proposals to organize its effective operation.

The American side reaffirmed its commitment to implement agreements reached to promote and support social and economic reforms in Uzbekistan, including through co-financing of priority infrastructure projects and initiatives aimed at development of private sector.

The parties also emphasized the interest in consistent and effective cooperation focused on social, economic, and infrastructural development of Central Asia, increasing the interconnection of regional countries and Afghanistan.

The conversation resulted in agreement to continue a close dialogue aimed at the earliest possible implementation of the agreed activities and projects.
