Negotiations with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance of Japan, Taro Aso
On January 15 this year, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan S. Umurzakov held negotiations with Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Finance of Japan, Taro Aso via videoconferencing.
Negotiations considered the current agenda of the multifaceted partnership between the two countries, as well as the prospects for its expansion. The parties noted a positive trend in the development of trade, economic, financial, technical and investment cooperation under agreements reached following a high-level visit to Japan in December 2019.
Separately, they considered the cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), as well as a number of issues related to large bilateral investment projects. The Japanese side noted the increase of interest of Japanese private business representatives in the joint ventures in Uzbekistan within production and services.
The attendees also considered the organization of joint events scheduled for the current year, including the 3rd meeting of the Uzbek-Japanese Interparliamentary Forum, as well as regular meetings of the Uzbek-Japanese and Japanese-Uzbek committees for economic cooperation, which will take place in Tashkent.
After negotiations, the parties outlined further steps under multifaceted bilateral cooperation and reached specific agreements on key aspects of interaction.
