Tasks to further stimulate the integrated development of Bukhara region with a view to makhallas
On January 23 this year, Bukhara hosted a video-conference headed by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan S. Umurzakov dedicated to the discussion on vital tasks to stimulate the accelerated social and economic development of Bukhara region when it comes to the visit of the Chief of State to the region.
The discussion involved the heads of ministries, departments, commercial associations assigned to districts and cities of the region, as well as representatives of local authorities.
The participants noted the significance of systematic work to study the potential and existing problems in the region with a view to all 544 makhallas considering the priorities outlined by the President of the country during his visit to Bukhara region.
There was a task set to revise the principles of the analysis in order to more objectively study the needs of the population, as well as the current state of infrastructure and social facilities.
After the study, there will be individual Road Maps designed to comprehensively develop each makhalla in all districts and cities of the region specifying certain measures to solve existing problems, executive officers, and deadlines. At the same time, the particular attention touched upon employment of the population, reduction of poverty and creation of new jobs.
With this in mind, there was an instruction to quickly develop and approve practical measures to implement 713 investment projects worth UZS 19.2 trillion included in Bukhara region investment program for 2021-2022 years, as well as 167 projects worth UZS 1.0 trillion focused on domestic labor and increase of public employment.
The participants highlighted the priority to continue exploring new opportunities to increase the industrial and export potential of the districts and cities in the region and to develop new promising projects with high-cost advantages with a reference to the existing 'points of growth'.
Besides, executive officials received instructions to additionally propose the creation of new jobs through greater involvement of the population in business and production activities.
The discussion determined algorithms for interdepartmental interaction. This resulted in targeted instructions to qualitatively and timely implement tasks set.
The Road Maps for the development of regional makhallas will be included in individual programs for the social and economic development of all 13 cities and districts of Bukhara region. Before approval, these programs are subject to separate discussion at special sessions by city and regional Kengashes of people's deputies involving makhallas' chairmen.
