The Government Delegation of Uzbekistan participated in celebrating the Day of the Uzbek language in Afghanistan

 

On October 20 this year, the Government Delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade S. Umurzakov participated in the celebration of the Day of the Uzbek Language in Kabul during the visit to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani, as well as the country's top officials represented the Afgan side.

During the event, the Government of Uzbekistan expressed its deep gratitude to the friendly Government and people of Afghanistan for their great attention to the preservation of the cultural heritage of the common ancestors, who contributed a lot to the development of world civilization.

There was a congratulatory message from the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan read out, which emphasized that the historical development of the Uzbek and Afghan peoples took place in a single scientific and cultural space and time, which created the prerequisites for maintaining the proximity of cultures and traditions, as well as for the development of strong friendly relations between the two countries. It was announced that this event was an important step in the development of Uzbek-Afghan relations and is intended to become a powerful incentive to enhance further cultural, scientific, and humanitarian cooperation.

It should be noted that October 21 in Afghanistan is declared an official holiday - the Day of the Uzbek language. The Uzbek language is included in the Constitution of Afghanistan as one of the official languages and is used in 10 provinces of Afghanistan. It gains popularity from year to year. In addition, Afghanistan has broadcasting of several television and radio channels in Uzbek.
