During the period from April 13 to 16, members of the Republican Commission for Export Potential Development in regions and industries visited Jizzakh region and got acquainted with the operation of entrepreneurs and exporters under economic situation associated with the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

For several days, working groups including members of the Commission, heads of ministries, departments, industry associations, commercial banks and local authorities studied in details the problems of business entities, jointly developed emergency and non-standard measures to support them.

The members of the Commission reviewed operation of 525 enterprises implementing investment projects in the region and identified 126 pressing concerns. For example, 82 enterprises required loan proceeds, 9 of them needed extension of loan repayment periods, 8 - a delay in the supply and installation of production equipment, 7 had problems with connection to utilities, 5 needed land plots, buildings and structures. All identified problems were promptly resolved involving relevant state structures, commercial banks and diplomatic missions of the Republic abroad.

The members separately reviewed operation of 94 exporting enterprises and identified 60 problem cases. It emerged that 23 entrepreneurs needed to extend interest payments on existing loans, 13 experienced difficulties in finding new foreign customers and obtaining international certificates, 9 needed additional lending resources to replenish working capital, 8 had difficulties in repaying earlier paid amounts of value added tax, 5 required uninterrupted supplies of natural gas and electricity, and 2 required support in in obtaining solutions for the export of certain products to China.

The key to solve all the above problems was also found directly in-situ through close coordination of relevant ministries, departments, commercial banks and local authorities.

Despite the difficult economic crisis in the global economy, the manufacturers and exporters of Jizzakh region received support and smooth operation of their enterprises.

Upon completion of work in this region, the Republican Commission left for Syrdarya region to further provide emergency support to entrepreneurs and exporters.
