The Republican Commission for Export Potential Development supports entrepreneurs of Bukhara region
Within the period from 4 till 6 April this year, the Republican Commission for Export Potential Development in regions and industries studied operation of entrepreneurs and exporters of Bukhara region to identify existing problems and implement emergency support measures under decline in global economic activity associated with coronavirus infection.
The work was implemented in-situ. Assigned teams including heads of ministries, industry associations, commercial banks and local authorities visited enterprises, reviewed current problems and took measures to solve them through direct communication with manufacturers and exporters. The Commission’s primary objective was to take a set of effective measures to ensure economic strength in the Republic primarily by supporting the stable operation of business entities.
During the visit of Bukhara region, the Commission worked with 778 entrepreneurs implementing regional investment projects and identified 188 problematic points. 56 points required lending resources, 51 required extension of interest payments on existing loans, 37 required delays in the delivery of foreign experts for installation of equipment to Uzbekistan, 16 had problems with equipment supply and 15 required connection of enterprises to utilities.
Each case was individually considered to develop and implement effective mechanisms solving all existing problems.
An insightful analysis of all 181 exporting enterprises identified problems of 53 entrepreneurs, including 15 requests for restricting of operating loans, 14 cases of lack of connection to electricity and gas supply lines at enterprises, 10 requests for loan proceeds for working capital financing, 8 requests to reimburse previously paid VAT, 6 inquiries related to the absence of foreign customers.
All identified concerns involved specific tailored solutions fixing the mechanism of support, responsible managers and deadlines.
After summarizing the progress in this region, the Commission left for Navoi region to further work with manufacturers and exporters and assist them in current operation under current epidemiological situation.
