The Republican Commission for Export Potential Development worked in Navoi region

On April 6-8, the Republican Commission for Export Potential Development in regions and industries worked with entrepreneurs and exporters from Navoi region. It visited them in-situ, comprehensively reviewed current production, analyzed impact of external economic factors caused by the coronavirus pandemic, as well as developed operational and effective solutions to ensure stable operation of enterprises and uninterrupted export supplies.

During the visit, the participants reviewed the operation of 548 business entities implementing investment projects in Navoi region, and 193 enterprises that faced problems in their operation. Each such case was comprehensively studied and received effective solution. Thus, 69 enterprises revealed the need to extend interest payments on existing loans, 58 required new loans, 18 - delays in customs clearance when importing engineering equipment, 13 had problems with connection to utilities, 11 needed land plots, empty buildings and structures, 9 enterprises delayed construction and installation work due to foreign experts failure of arrival associated with restrictions on passenger flights. All identified problems were solved with the close cooperation of ministries, departments, commercial banks and local authorities.

Moreover, the participants reviewed operation of all regional exporters (135 enterprises) and identified that 25 entrepreneurs also had concerns requiring urgent solutions. Where, 11 exporters required lending resource to replenish working capital, 9 required international standards and quality certificates, as well as new foreign customers, 5 required assistance in the restructuring of existing loans. These concerns received their solutions involving responsible state structures and local authorities.

The region will continue systematic and prompt identification of problems of entrepreneurs and exporters, respond and develop solutions to comprehensively and timely support business in spite of the negative phenomena in the global economy.

Separately, the participants reviewed operation of business entities in ‘Navoi’ FEZ. They paid a particular attention to specific step-by-step measures to increase the attractiveness of ‘Navoi’ Free Economic Zone for foreign investors.

The Commission summed up the operation in Navoi region and left for Samarkand region.
