The Republican Commission for the Development of Export Potential met with businessmen in the Kashkadarya Region
On April 3-4 this year, the Republican Commission for the Development of the Export Potential of Regions and Industries carried out work to mitigate the negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the business of entrepreneurs and exporters of districts and cities of the Kashkadarya Region. Members of the Commission, together with heads of ministries, departments, industrial associations, commercial banks and local authorities, meeting the quarantine requirements, organized visits to enterprises in order to comprehensively study their business activities and resolve existing problems.
The measures were aimed at ensuring the uninterrupted operation of business entities, which is a prerequisite for the economic stability and the employment and income of population. In this regard, the Commission members individually explored possibilities for practical support to enterprises in solving problems related to the need for financial support, infrastructure, raw materials supply, products and workers transportation, and tax and customs regulation.
During a direct analysis of the activities of 881 entrepreneurs of Kashkadarya region implementing investment projects, experts identified 259 problem cases, where 140 entrepreneurs asked to prolong the term of loan interest payment, 67 ones to provide loans, 14 ones to send foreign specialists to Uzbekistan for the installation works, 11 ones asked to provide lands, buildings and facilities, 10 ones to connect their facilities to utilities, 7 ones complained about delays in the supply of technological equipment from abroad. All the above problems were solved by joint efforts of the ministries, departments, commercial banks and diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan abroad.
In addition, experts analyzed the business activities of all 84 exporting enterprises. According to the analysis, 42 entrepreneurs had problems with their business: 13 ones requested new loans to replenish working capital, 11 ones to reimburse the previously paid VAT amount, 10 ones to prolong the term of loan interest payment, 4 ones asked to search for new foreign customers, 4 ones to connect their facilities to gas and electricity supply lines.
Experts could develop and implement targeted solutions for all above problems. All these solutions were aimed at efficient development of foreign trade activities and ensured timely implementation of export agreements.
Summing up the results of work in the region, the Commission went to the Bukhara region to continue working with entrepreneurs and provide targeted support in the current economic situation.
