The review of the progress in the comprehensive support to entrepreneurs and exporters of Andijan, Namangan and Fergana regions
On October 29-31 this year, members of the Government Commission for the Development of Export and Investment headed by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan S. Umurzakov and involving heads of ministries, departments, industry associations and commercial banks provided comprehensive support to entrepreneurs and exporters in Andijan, Namangan and Fergana regions.
Visits to the enterprises and facilities provided the monitoring of progress in executing instructions given during the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Andijan, Fergana and Namangan regions in May-June this year, as well as review of taken measures and determination of pressing concerns followed by development of relevant solutions. Moreover, there was a determination of executive officers and deadlines to resolve the problems identified involving relevant institutions and organizations locally.
The members also reviewed the progress in the implementation of practical measures and instructions given during the work of the Government Commission for the Development of Export and Investment in three regions. They considered measures taken locally to enhance the development of industry, accelerate the investment projects, increase the level of localization, develop industrial clusters and free economic zones, as well as to build the export potential up. There was the assessment of the impact of measures to the growth of the gross regional product, industrial output and revenues to the state budget, as well as to the provision of new jobs to the local population.
The members outlined specific tasks to eliminate existing issues, which require solution to qualitatively and timely implement planned measures ensuring targeted support to exporters and initiators of investment projects.
They emphasized the main priority as the coordinated operation of heads of ministries, departments, industry associations, commercial banks, and local authorities to ensure timely commissioning of launched projects and the creation of new industries, expansion of permanent jobs, and export potential build-up.
They noted that such work will ensure the implementation of the tasks and currently brings tangible results. The regions reconstruct previously idle and run new industries and new areas of production. During the visit, the members of the Government Commission participated in the opening of a number of production facilities. For example, there was Agro Impex Valley opened in Tashlak district of Fergana region. This is a high-tech facility that produce high-voltage ignition wires and metal pipes used for the construction of greenhouses. The timely launch of this enterprise was due to the prompt actions of the heads of the relevant ministries and departments.
The work of the Government Commission resulted in instructions to work out additional measures to develop entrepreneurship in the regions and cities of Andijan, Namangan, and Fergana regions, as one of the most important points of economic growth and the main source of employment for the population. The members stressed the need to consistently form and introduce sustainable mechanisms for the rapid identification and solution of emerging problems in situ.
The General Prosecutor's Office will constantly monitor the quality and timely execution of orders.
