Trade, economic and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UAE will be intensified
On December 10 this year, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan S.Umurzakov held a meeting on trade, economic and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UAE. The meeting was attended by the leadership and staff of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, its representative office in the UAE, as well as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the United Arab Emirates.
The current state of implementation of existing agreements, progress in the implementation of joint projects and the prerequisites for expanding partnerships in promising areas were considered.
The effectiveness of interaction with Emirati partners and the indicators achieved in implementing joint projects and initiatives were considered in detail. The need to revise principles of work with Emirati partners and to improve mechanisms of interaction with UAE business circles in order to effectively use the untapped potential of bilateral economic cooperation was noted.
The urgency of purposeful efforts toward bringing the business communities of the two countries closer in order to establish direct links between Uzbek and Emirati businessmen was stressed. This will make it possible to identify the most promising areas of cooperation and create conditions for reaching concrete agreements on implementing joint projects.
Instructions have been given to develop, together with ministries and agencies, a comprehensive strategy of trade and investment cooperation with the UAE, as well as a separate "Road Map" to enhance bilateral partnership in 2022, indicating specific projects and timelines for their implementation.
