Visit of the Republican Commission for the Development of Export Potential to the Namangan Region

The Republican Commission for the Development of Export Potential in Regions and Industries with the involvement of heads of branch ministries, departments, commercial banks and local authorities visited the industrial and agricultural enterprises of the Namangan Region to study their current business and provide emergency support measures to withstand the crisis in the global economy caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

During these visits the Commission's working groups could study the actual situation in the region in the investment and foreign trade spheres, to analyze the level of negative impact of foreign economic factors on the work of business entities and to jointly develop and implement targeted assistance measures for the initiators of investment projects and exporters.

 

During the work in the Namangan Region, the Commission could investigate the business situation at 1,453 enterprises. It was found out that 209 enterprises encountered problems in their current business. 63  entrepreneurs said that they would like to obtain loans, 40 entrepreneurs asked to prolong the terms of loans already granted, 28 entrepreneurs reported problems with connecting to gas and electricity networks, 18 ones asked to allocate land, buildings and structures, 10 ones said that they have problems due to postponed supply of process equipment and 6 ones said that they have problems due to postponed arrival of foreign specialists for the installation of equipment.

 

All problems identified were solved directly on site by the effective cooperation from the side of responsible government agencies and commercial banks.

The specialists analyzed the business situation of all 211 exporting enterprises. According to their analysis, 70 problems were identified: in 31 cases entrepreneurs asked to allocate loans to replenish working capital, in 12 cases they reported the need to find new foreign purchasers, in 27 cases entrepreneurs complained of delayed shipment, asked to allocate land and facilities and to ensure uninterrupted gas and electricity supply.

All requests of entrepreneurs were studied in detail and members of the Commission together with relevant ministries, departments, commercial banks, local authorities and diplomatic missions of the Republic of Uzbekistan abroad responded on them expeditiously.
