What was memorable about the second day of TIIF-2023

Tashkent International Investment Forum has completed its work in the capital city, bringing together over 2.5 thousand participants from the USA, EU, UK, CIS, Turkey, China, South-East Asia, India, Egypt and Middle East countries.

On the sidelines of the second Tashkent International Investment Forum, a panel session on " Modern industry of construction and building materials" was held, at which experts discussed the prospects of the industry.

In particular, it is noted that the modern industry of construction and building materials is a dynamically developing sector of the economy. However, in the conditions of new technologies constantly appearing, as well as in the conditions of external crises, the branch is constantly changing. In the near future the construction sphere will be more and more oriented to "green" standards and technologies aimed at saving resources, safe housing and creating a comfortable living environment.

Opening the session, Director of Investment Promotion Agency Murat Mirzaev talked about the steps taken in Uzbekistan for the country to start building with the use of materials produced using new "green" technologies. According to the speaker, given the use of green technologies in construction, more private households should be attracted to the sphere.

Thus, one of the sessions is "The Investment Potential of the Textile, Leather and Silk Industries" dedicated to the textile, leather, and silk industries, which are important sectors of the economy with great investment potential. These industries produce a wide range of products, including textiles, clothing, footwear, accessories and leather goods. Each has its own specific features, but all of them play an important role in Uzbekistan's economic development.

The speakers were Deputy Secretary-General of United Nations Olga Algayerova, chairman of the Uzbekistan Textile and Garment Industry Association Ilkhom Haydarov, Silverleafe director Dan Patterson, Deputy Chairman of the Board of "Uzcharmsanoat" Association Farhod Nurmuhamedov and Siltraco SL Technical Director Aleksandr Pimenov. Aziza Umarova, head of the Delivery Unit project office at the Agency for Strategic Reforms under the President of Uzbekistan, acted as moderator.

At the session "Chemistry: looking into the future", it was noted that today the chemical industry is seeking a balance between sustainability and profitability. Investors are choosing brands that seek to minimise their negative impact on the environment, protect health and natural resources, or improve the living conditions of the population.

Therefore, the issue of environmentally friendly chemical products is taken to a new level.

The chemical industry faces the challenge of meeting these requirements and producing high-quality, environmentally friendly products.

At the session "Banking and Finance: New Horizons" noted that banking and finance continue to develop and improve, opening up new horizons for investors, entrepreneurs and clients. However, with rapid development and change, it is important to keep an eye on new trends, the experts said.

- Thanks to digitalization, many changes are taking place," said Massimiliano Merlini, managing director and partner and head of technology and digital advantage at Boston Consulting Group. - New players are emerging in the banking sector with an emphasis on modern technology and innovation. Many banks are already working on overcoming cybersecurity risks and developing data analytics and implementing artificial intelligence.
