MAN SE (formerly: Maschinenfabrik Augsburg-Nürnberg; SE), a car manufacturing concern, is an open-type European joint-stock company. Headquarters is located in Munich. The main shareholder of the company is Volkswagen AG concern, which owns 75.73% of the shares. 53,824 people work at MAN enterprises worldwide (31,444 of them are in Germany).

The annual turnover is 14.2 billion euros (2017), of which 76% falls on manufacturing abroad.

For MAN Truck & Bus, the CIS region is one of the most important markets in the world. In accordance with the company’s development strategy, not only a representative office has been created in Uzbekistan on sales and service, but also production capacity. So, for example, in August 2009, the joint venture MAN Auto-Uzbekistan was launched.

The enterprise’s activity began with the assembly of trucks on the rented areas of SamAvto joint venture. A couple of months later, on July 30, 2012, a new assembly plant was launched near the city of Samarkand. The area of ​​the plant is 15 thousand square meters. The company is capable of producing 8 thousand trucks per year. About 1 thousand people work at the production complex today.

The development plan includes the launch of an enterprise for production of trailers and attachments for production of dump truck bodies and auto-trailers, container trucks and auto transporters, tent and isothermal semi-trailers, other special bodies and vehicles.

The plant will have a full cycle of metal processing and sheet metal profiles, welding, painting, assembling of mounted and trailed equipment with its subsequent testing.

Today, the production of the following types of products has been mastered: awning semi-trailers and bodies, isothermal semi-trailers and bodies, truck cranes with a lifting capacity of 16, 18, 25, 35 and 50 tons, bitumovoz, tankers, grain and cotton trucks, concrete mixers, cement trucks, heavy low-bed trucks, etc.

The market of commercial vehicles in Uzbekistan has great potential for further development. The following factors contribute to this:

— availability of special financial programs for the purchase of vehicles and their support from the Government. The leasing and credit market is developing at an accelerated pace;

— GDP growth, activity of small and medium business, ongoing projects in strategic sectors of the economy with the assistance of the Government and international financial institutions;

— dynamic development of activities of oil and gas companies, as well as mining, construction, transport and trade areas.

Due to active development, high quality of cars and services, MAN has maintained steady growth in the market and won the trust of customers. For example, such partners of MAN Auto-Uzbekistan JV as Angren Logistics Center, which procures tractors and dump trucks TGS 26.400, State Joint-Stock Company Uzavtoyul, Road Fund and Fergana Refinery, Almalyk and Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combines, Uzbekistan Railways, joint ventures GM Uzbekistan, Coca Cola and others.
