On 13 September of 2019, an agreement on the purchase of electricity was signed between National Electric Networks of Uzbekistan JSC and TOTAL Eren. The project will be implemented in Samarkand region of Uzbekistan.
The French company TOTAL Eren is investing 150 million euros in the construction of a photovoltaic station with a total capacity of 100 MW on a public-private partnership in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The company will carry out the design, financing, construction and operation of a power plant for the entire project implementation period (25 years).
The start of construction work is expected in the first quarter of 2020 with the commissioning of the first photovoltaic station in Uzbekistan by the first quarter of 2021.
A cooperation agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and TOTAL Eren (France) on the construction of photovoltaic stations in the Republic of Uzbekistan was signed during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the French Republic in October 2018.
TOTAL Eren is a French company, one of the leaders in the field of renewable energy in the world. The portfolio of implemented investment projects of the company includes more than 2,400 MW of installed capacity to generate electricity from renewable energy sources, as well as more than 2,000 MW of capacity at the development stage.
