Uzbekistan to launch production of cargo transport on alternative energy
On September 25 this year, Olimkhon Rustamov, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade, held talks with Hanjie Hu, Chairman/Party Secretary at Faw Jiefang Automobile.
For reference: FAW Group is the first Chinese automotive company, founded in 1953. In terms of car production, it ranks second in China, and first in heavy–duty commercial vehicles. Medium and heavy-duty trucks are among the leaders in sales in China.
During the dialogue, the current implementation state of joint projects for the production of mini-trucks and medium-trucks in the Andijan region by the Chinese company China FAW Group Co Ltd in partnership with Uzbek companies UzAuto Trailer and Vodiy Universal Majmua was considered.
At the same time, the prospects for the development of the automotive industry for the production of trucks and semi-trucks using alternative energy sources were discussed. The importance of the development of this industry as a growth driver of related small and medium-sized businesses in the region was emphasized.
Following the meeting, the parties identified further steps to enhance cooperation within the framework of the discussed projects and initiatives.
